Decal Application instructions

NOTE: SURFACE TEMPERATURE SHOULD BE BETWEEN 50F AND 90F BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE INSTALLATION. WASH AND RINSE THE AREA WITH LIQUID DISH DETERGENT AND WARM WATER. THEN DRY THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN, LINT-FREE TOWEL OR CLOTH. FINISH UP THE CLEANING PROCESS BY WIPING DOWN THE ENTIRE AREA WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL.

Things you will need:

• SQUEEGEE
• MASKING TAPE
• PAPER TOWEL OR CLOTH
• RUBBING ALCOHOL

Decal Structure:

• APPLICATION TAPE - Low tack sticky plastic film.
• VINYL DECAL - Digitally cut vinyl sticker.
• PAPER BACKING - Non-stick waxed paper.

STEP 1

Unpack the decal. Decal is stressed from being rolled up. Let it warm-up or cool-down to the room temperature.

STEP 2

Lay lettering decal out on a flat surface so that paper backing is facing up. Use a squeegee to stroke the decal backing from the center of the decal to the sides to ensure the decal is firmly attached to the application tape.

STEP 3

Before removing any backing, position the decal perfectly and exactly where you want it. You can use small pieces of masking tape to hold the decal in place.

STEP 4

Apply masking tape to one side of the decal and the surface.

STEP 5

Now when one side of the decal is attached to the surface with the masking tape, remove the backing from the decal. You will have only the sticky decal and sticky application tape.

STEP 6

Using a squeegee, begin applying the decal from attached side while holding the other side away from the surface. Once the decal is installed, firmly rub it with a towel or cloth.

STEP 7

Remove the masking tape. Remove the application tape from the left or right side. Don't pull up! Pull across to ensure you don't pull the decal right off the surface. Pull slowly and if you notice the decal come up as you pull, stop and push the decal back with a squeegee and try again.

TIP: LARGE DECALS ARE HARDER TO APPLY. SOMETIMES IT IS EASIER TO CUT THE LARGE DECAL INTO SEVERAL SMALLER, MORE MANAGEABLE PIECES. YOU CAN CUT THE DECAL BETWEEN LETTERS AND WORDS, THEN APPLY EACH PIECE INDIVIDUALLY.

STEP 5

Complete Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 as described above.

Cut the decal between letters or words into more manageable pieces. Do not cut vinyl decal itself - cut only paper backing and application tape.

STEP 6

Work with one piece at a time. Now when one side of the decal is attached to the surface with the masking tape, remove the backing from the decal. You will have only the sticky decal and sticky application tape.

STEP 7

Using a squeegee, apply the decal from attached side while holding the other side away from the surface.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each piece.

Once the last piece is installed, firmly rub the decal with a towel or cloth.

STEP 8

Remove the masking tape. Remove the application tape from the left or right side of each piece. Don't pull up! Pull across to ensure you don't pull the decal right off the surface. Pull slowly and if you notice the decal come up as you pull, stop and push the decal back with a squeegee and try again.
